Metaphor

A Metaphor is used to convey a complex idea using few words.


1. He is a lamppost, standing all alone on an empty street, solemnly illuminating the darkness.
2. Her garden is a forest, decorated with all sorts of remarkably beautiful plants and trees.
3. His mouth was the size of a cantaloupe slice when he received an A on his summative assignment.
4. Her inner intestines writhed and growled whenever she saw bleeding carcasses; she could not endure the disgusting scene.
5. The souls of young children are like the autumn sky; they are so deep and clear.
6. He was a fuming train with vapors coming up from his head.
7. She was lost in the midst of a labyrinth, unable to grasp any of the teacher's words.
8. His body was a giant vibrating phone; he was so thrilled and anticipated about the date with Emma Watson.
